The session of National Assembly has begun to elect the Leader of the House the 22nd PM

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman on Friday shook hand with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shahbaz Sharif prior to the National Assembly session to elect country’s next prime minister.

As soon as the former Punjab CM and PML-N president reached National Assembly to attend its session to elect country’s next prime minister, Imran Khan stood from his seat, walked towards Shahbaz Sharif and shook hands with him.

PTI chairman Imran Khan and PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif are in the field for election of Prime Minister.

The session of National Assembly has begun to elect the Leader of the House – the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan.

National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser scrutinised nomination papers of both the candidates and held them in order. Prior to the session, lawmakers met to formulate strategy for the session. The elected prime minister is expected to take oath on Saturday.

Khan arrived in the parliament before the scheduled polling time. Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari are also in attendance.
