(Web Desk) – Jemima Goldsmit felicitated his former husband Imran Khan as victory seems inevitable for cricket-turned-politician in the historic General Elections 2018.
Jemima—who was married to Khan in 1995—took to popular micro-blogging website Twitter and stated, ““I remember Imran Khan’s 1st election in 1997 – untested, idealistic and politically naive,” she wrote. “I waited up for the call in Lahore with a three-months old Sulaiman, who I had lugged around the country. Eventually, he called. “It’s a clean sweep” and after my gasp, “… the other way.” Imran roared with laughter.”
She added, “22 years later, after humiliations, hurdles and sacrifices, my sons’ father is Pakistan’s next PM. It’s an incredible lesson in tenacity, belief & refusal to accept defeat. The challenge now is to remember why he entered politics in the 1st place. Congratulations @ImranKhanPTI”.
