PMLN president Shahbaz Sharif will lead the Nawaz-Maryam reception rally from Lohari Gate

(Webdesk) - Pakistan Muslim League (N) workers since last night have been protesting on the streets of Lahore and are aggrieved and agonized over the interim government measures taken ahead of the former Prime Minister and PMLN Supremo arrival on Friday evening, to present himself for arrest, after his conviction in Avenfield Reference case.

So far, more than five hundred PMLN workers including some local bodies’ representatives have been arrested, said media co-ordinator PMLN. Earlier, Shehbaz Sharifwrote a letter to Caretaker CM Punjab Hassan Askari to record his protest over the worst political victimisation of workers trying to keep them silent & crackdown launched to refrain party supporters to receive the party supreme leader and ousted premier Nawaz Sharif, returning to the country to surrender.

After the detention of many party workers, Union Council chairmen and councilors, protests are broken out. Raged protesters block the roads by burning tyres, chanting slogans in the favor of party supremo Nawaz Shraif, daughter Maryam Nawaz, Party President and former Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and other senior leadership and against caretaker government and Incumbent Chief Minister Dr. Hassan Rizvi.

After the presser of Nawaz Sharif last night, PMLN party senior leadership has also addressed to the press and expressed their grave concerns and reservations against caretaker government of Punjab. The remonstrations erupted after the Provincial Capital s roads and key boulevards are blocked by the heavy containers. The protesters are ferocious and allege that their movements are being restrained amid the tighten security.

Other than Lahore, Special precautionary arrangements have already been made in capital. All national highways and motorway will be closed ahead of former prime minsiter Nawaz Sharif’s arrival from London. The National Highways and Motorway Police have been tasked to close key entry and exit routes, including highways and motorway, as authorities beef up security measures.

Former CM Punjab, president PMLN and Brother Nawaz Sharif, has said that he will personally lead the reception rally from Lohari Gate tomorrow. He further assured authorities that the reception for Nawaz Sharif would be wholly peaceful. The PMLN is builder of Pakistan. We served the masses during last many years. How can we destroy what we built up?, pledged President PMLN Shahbaz Sharif.
