Hussain Nawaz says properties mentioned in report of British newspaper were no more owned by family

LONDON (Dunya News) – Hussain Nawaz, son of former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday said that the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) step for their arrest has no legal standing.

Reacting to the NAB’s approval bring him, his brother Hassan Nawaz and former finance minister Ishaq Dar to Pakistan through Interpol, he said that anti-graft watchdog should do whatever it want through Interpol as the Bureau’s actions have no legal standing.

The ex-PM’s son said that no illegal actions are possible in Britain.

Hussain Nawaz went on to say that the properties mentioned in report of the British newspaper were no more owned by Sharif family.
He said that his brother, Hasan Nawaz, did business involving those properties, however, he also does not own them now.

Earlier, the anti-graft body had taken a decision to arrest the sons of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif-Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz, and former finance minister Ishaq Dar vial Interpol.

While Sharif and his sons have been accused in three references, his daughter, and son in law are accused in the Avenfield case.

The Accountability Court has declared Dar a  proclaimed absconder  citing his failure to appear before the court in a case pertaining to assets beyond income. In December last Hassan and Hussain Nawaz too were declared proclaimed offenders by the Court in the NAB case that has been filed against the Sharif family.

Various cases against the family pertain to Hill Metal Establishment, Al-Azizia Steel Mills, Avenfield property and the Flagship Investment Ltd. While Sharif and his sons have been accused in all the three references, his daughter, and son in law are accused in the Avenfield case.
