Elections 2018: Nomination papers filing deadline expires today

The date for submission of nomination papers for elections 2018 will expire today.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The deadline for submission of nomination papers for general elections 2018 will expire  today (Monday), Dunya News reported.

General election for the National Assembly and provincial assemblies of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan are scheduled to be held on July 25.

According to Election Commission of Pakistan, the date of publication of names of the nominated candidates will be June 11, while the last date for scrutiny of nomination papers by the Returning Officers will be June 19.

The last date for filing of appeals against the decisions of the Returning Officers rejecting/accepting the nomination papers will be June 22 while the last date for deciding of appeals by the Appellate Tribunals will be June 27.

The date of Publication of revised list of the candidates will be June 28 while the last date for withdrawal if candidature and publication of revised list of candidate will be June 29.

The date for allotment of election symbols to the contesting candidates will be June 30.

The Election Commission further said that this programme shall also apply to the seats reserved for women and non-Muslims in the National Assembly and provincials assemblies of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
