Balochistan Assembly approves resolution seeking one-month delay in elections

The resolution seeking delay in elections was tabled by Balochistan Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti.

QUETTA (Dunya News) - Balochistan Assembly has passed a resolution seeking one-month delay in elections in the country, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.

The resolution seeking one-month dealy in general elections in the counry was tabled in the provincial assembly by Balochistan Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti.

As per details garnered, Bugti had cited two reasons for the delay in elections. He stated that several people will be performing Hajj rituals while people from several districts would migrate owing to monsoon season.

On the other hand opposition parties, Pakhtunkhwa Milly Awami Party and ANP, opposed the resolution and staged a walk out from the assembly after the passage of resolution.

Meanwhile, the farewell session the Balochistan Assembly is scheduled to be held today (Thursday).
