ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday has started recording her statement in accountability court in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Avenfield reference.

During the hearing headed by Justice Mohammad Bashir, Maryam Nawaz said, “I am 44 years old and it’s true that my father held public offices.”

She said that the report of Joint Investigation Team (JIT) is irrelevant to the NAB reference.

Earlier, addressing a rally in Attock, Maryam Nawaz Sharif stated that her father and party’s supremo Nawaz Sharif unearthed reasons behind his ouster and those who ousted him.

“Even corruption and money laundering of single penny wasn’t proven against him. You [read people] give Nawaz Sharif votes whereas some elements oust him by hatching conspiracies”, claimed Maryam.

She went on to say that Nawaz Sharif had not been framed in Panama Papers, yet he had appeared before accountability court for 70 times. “Those framed in Panama Papers have not been summoned by any court.

On the other hand, Sharif had been ousted over merely withdrawing salary from his son”, asserted Maryam.

Maryam warned foes that Sharif wouldn’t allow [anyone] to tamper sanctity of the vote.
