JI continues protest against prolonged electricity, water shortages in Karachi

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Jamat-e-Islami (JI) on Friday has continued protest against the prolonged power cuts and water scarcity in parts of Karachi.

According to details, Malir Kala Board area has been blocked by the enraged protesters while both tracks leading to Shahrah-e-Faisal from National Highway have also been closed for traffic.



The long queues of vehicles are being witnessed in the metropolis after which heavy contingents of police and Rangers have arrived at the scene to disperse the protesters.

Meanwhile, North Karachi, Orangi Town and Delhi Colony are also facing sit-ins and protests.

The people have demanded the concerning department to take step for the elimination of the outages and ensure relief to the locals.



JI’s Karachi chief, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that they are not causing trouble to the passers-by as their protest is peaceful.

It is to be mentioned here that Karachi is bearing load-shedding of more than 12 hours daily on the name of technical glitches.

The locations that are affected by the power cuts are Malir, Shah Faisal Colony, New Karachi, Federal B Area, Liaquatabad, Orangi Town, PHCHS, Nazimabad, Korangi, Landhi, Old City Area and Lines Area.
