ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected the medical certificate of former finance minister Ishaq Dar in Senate election eligibility case.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar conducted hearing of the case.

He inquired from Dar’s lawyer Salman Butt about his client. “Bring Ishaq Dar in the court. Have you read our last order?”

“Ishaq Dar is ill. I have submitted his medical certificate in the court,” replied the lawyer.

“He cannot be ill from such a long time. The court had directed him to appear before it in personal capacity. We are here till 8pm. Ask him and tell us when will he appear before the court,” said the CJP.

“The order is not issued for violation. We will provide Dar with protective bail,” added the Chief Justice.
