PM Abbasi announces to restore full gas supply to K-Electric

PM has directed the local administration to resolve all other matters of Karachi in 15 days.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – In a step to eliminate prolonged power outages in Karachi, Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Monday has announced to restore full gas supply to K-Electric.

Talking to media in Governor House, the premier said that the metropolis will not be deprived of electricity or water, adding that load shedding will be continued in the areas where power theft is at peak.

Federal government has fulfilled its responsibility regarding Green Line project, he added.

PM Abbasi has also directed the local administration to resolve all other matters of Karachi in 15 days.

Earlier today, PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said multibillion dollar China Pakistan Economic Corridor project will not only contribute to the development of Pakistan but also to the entire region.

Prime Minister said Afghanistan also realizes the benefits of CPEC for the region. It will provide the most efficient trade route to Afghanistan, western China and the Central Asian States through rail and road networks.

He said besides highways, motorway projects and energy projects, the up gradation of main line of Pakistan Railways is also part of the CPEC.

He said special economic zones to be built under the CPEC will provide opportunities to investors across the world to build their businesses and take advantage of the project. 

It is to be mentioned here that Karachi is facing load-shedding of more than 12 hours daily on the name of technical glitches.

The locations that are affected by the power cuts are Malir, Shah Faisal Colony, New Karachi, Federal B Area, Liaquatabad, Orangi Town, PHCHS, Nazimabad, Korangi, Landhi, Old City Area and Lines Area.

Industrial areas are also being hit by 8 to 10-hour unscheduled load shedding.
