LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar on Tuesday expressed resentment on chief secretary over improper basic facilities in Punjab.

Hearing the case pertaining to clean water in Punjab at Supreme Court (SC) Lahore registry, CJP asked the provincial government what steps it has taken for boosting health and education sectors. He remarked, “Do you know how much Arsenic is being used in drinking water.”

He also directed to inform the court about quality of drinking water in hospitals, colleges and schools as private institutions are taking hefty fee.

CJP further assured to appreciate every step taken for the welfare of the locals. He asked the chief secretary to stay with him for a whole week to monitor the status of facilities being provided to the people.

Justice Saqib is likely to visit Punjab Institute of Cardiology with chief secretary shortly.
