ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has on Monday given two options to the federation; either to present the Faizabad agreement in the parliament, or to clarify its legality in a federal level meeting.
The case regarding Faizabad sit-in was heard by Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, and Intelligence Bureau submitted its report in the court.
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui remarked that police officials of Islamabad were beaten during the protest and they should get additional salaries of four months. He stated that no one is taking care of the families of police officers, and this case will continue until they are facilitated.
Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) Ashtar Ausaf commented that it is state’s duty to take care of every citizen. Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui inquired that under which law the clauses of terrorism against the protesters were removed from the case. Ashtar Ausaf sought time from the court to submit detailed report.
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui remarked that the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan has not stopped the high court from hearing this case, and the IHC is conducting hearing on moral grounds.
IHC will not announce its verdict regarding the case in respect of the apex court which is hearing a suo moto case on the same issue, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui maintained. The hearing was then adjourned until January 12.
