IHC directs religious parties to call off Faizabad sit-in

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has on Thursday directed the religious parties to call off their sit-in that is being staged in Faizabad.

The hearing on petition filed by the Tehreek Labaik Ya Rasool Allah (TLYRA) to make public the report of the Raja Zafarul Haq Committee was held by Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui.

Justice Shaukat remarked that the matter has now come to the court, have fear of God and abandon the protest. He said the sit-in is creating difficulties for people of all ages and disturbing the routine life of citizens. The judge maintained that a good deed becomes bad if it is done through wrong way, and told to TLYRA counsel to follow the law.

Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui further added that the proceedings on TLYRA petition will not be continued until the sit-in is aborted, and ordered the responsible persons to apologize for the inappropriate remarks against Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar. The hearing has been adjourned till November 29.
