Deactivation of 10 companies

It should be recalled that Punjab government had deactivated 10 public limited companies after Dunya News Investigation Wing unearthed Rs80 bn scam case. Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah had confessed to closing of Punjab Saaf Pani Company and Punjab Land Records Authority. Sanaullah further informed that provincial government has asked auditor general to initiate audit at earliest.

“Delay in audit is due to auditor general and not because of Punjab govt”, said Sanaullah while adding, “Complains were received of making payment more than original amount by Punjab Saaf Pani Company and 22 people has been arrested in this regard."

Rana Sana - who was appointed as the head of a commission to probe irregularities - claimed that Punjab govt had achieved targets after formation of companies while action was taken against reports of corruption.
