Faisalabad WASA laid off 90 employees citing financial issues
90 employees dismissed even though the company has foreign contracts worth billions
FAISALABAD: (Dunya News) – Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) laid off 90 grade 4 employees due to financial issues which are said to be around Rs. 20 million a year. The institution had already dismissed 350 employees in the past.
WASA MD stated that more employees will be dismissed due to less recovery rate because very few citizen pay the connection bills.
The dismissed employees complained that they had been serving WASA for years and they have been used as scapegoats to save the WASA officers.
