The party presidency

Nawaz Sharif was sacked as the president of Muslim League-Nawaz following his disqualification on July 28 by the top court in a corruption reference.

Accrording to the code of the election commission, the disqualified member could not lead a political party which is why Shehbaz Sharif was appointed the party president.

The electoral reforms bill that was approved in the Senate earlier this month paved way for his re-appointment as the party president.

A session of the National Assembly is scheduled for October 2nd to have the reforms bill approved. The session was earlier scheduled for October 4th however reportedly, the revision was made in accordance with his departure plan.

Reportedly, the bill would be forwarded to the president the same day and on October 3rd (Tuesday), a meeting of top brass of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz would re-elect him as the president of the political front.
