NAB representative said that the challan against Sharif family and Ishaq Dar is interim.

LAHORE (Daily Dunya) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to take assistance from United Arab Emirates (UAE) over reference against Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar in Panama Leaks case.

According to NAB representative, the challan against Sharif family and Ishaq Dar is interim due to lack of evidence. He said that a letter, seeking mutual legal assistance from UAE officials has been sent to NAB headquarters by Lahore bureau.

NAB has also given importance to the proofs gathered by Panama Joint Investigation Team (JIT).

The authorities said that Ishaq Dar had recorded his statement before JIT in short time while he also refrained from appearing in NAB.

Earlier, the executive board of NAB approved four references against Sharif family and Ishaq Dar over Panamagate issue. Ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his children Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz and Maryam Nawaz along with his son-in-law Captain Safdar were officially nominated accused in the references.

Supreme Court had directed NAB to prepare references in which one was regarding Al-Azizia Steel Mill while the other two were about London flats and 16 offshore companies held by the Sharif family.

SC had disqualified Nawaz Sharif in Panama case verdict on the basis of his non-withdrawn salary, considering it part of his assets on July 28.
