The court also annulled all the hirings that were taken place from July 7.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday has dismissed the provincial government’s order to remove Inspector General Sindh (IG) Allah Dino Khawaja and ordered that he will continue to serve on his post.

A two-member bench headed by Justice Muneeb Akhtar announced the decision that was reserved on May 30 and directed federal and provincial government to work for reforms in police department.

The court also annulled all the hirings that were taken place from July 7.

On April 13, SHC extended stay order for AD Khawaja and directed him to serve as the IG Sindh till the final verdict in the case.

AD Khawaja was appointed as Sindh IG on March 12 last year, but gradually developed a rift with the Sindh government after he refused to appoint constables on quota system and hired them through NTS test.

In December 2016, he was sent on forced leave by Sindh government on the directives of prominent leaders after which he got restraining order on his transfer from the court.
