Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif said that the whole nation is united against Trump's statement

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Joint session of the National Assembly unanimously passed a resolution denouncing the US President Donald Trump’s allegations of safe havens for terrorists inside Pakistan and US policy review for South Asia and Afghanistan, reported Dunya News.

The resolution was put forward by Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif in a parliamentary session chaired by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq on Wednesday.

According to the summary of the resolution, parliament acknowledged the sacrifices rendered by the security forces in the war on terror. “American President Donald Trump and U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s statements are threatening, we reject America s new Afghan policy,” the summary of the resolution read.

While addressing the National Assembly, Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif said that the reaction against Trump’s statement is the voice of the whole country. He said that a super power wants to put the blame of their failure on us. Foreign Minister stated that Pakistan has come to a point where its security is in jeopardy. “The whole nation is on one page, we stand united today,” Asif said.

He said that Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies have sacrificed a lot to restore peace in the country. “Operations Zarb-e-Azb, Radd-ul-Fasaad and Khyber-4 are testament of our resolve against terrorism,”  said.

The resolution further said that the whole nation is united against President Trump’s policy. Pakistan has lost over $123 billion in the war on terror. “We reject America’s statement of lending Pakistan billions of dollars,” the resolution read.

The resolution condemned Trump administration’s policy of encouraging India’s role in Afghanistan. “America and NATO should stop India from using Afghan land against Pakistan,” the resolution read.

The resolution denounced India’s brutality in Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK). "Pakistan is concerned about Islamic State’s presence in Afghanistan," it read.

"We have been asked to ‘do more’ for the past 16 years," Asif said. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker said that Pakistan is facing the brunt of President Musharraf’s policies today. "We presented our land and air bases to be used for war, Musharraf did that to save his own rule," he said
