Analyst sees Ch Nisar's presser as a 'hint'

Dunya News

Senior analysts expressed their thoughts in Dunya News program Think Tank.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Senior analyst Haroon-ur-Rasheed said while commenting on former interior minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Chaudhry Nisar’s press conference that it was a hint for ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif that he should change his attitude and not act like a king.

Haroon-ur-Rasheed expressed his thoughts along with other experts in Dunya News program Think Tank while talking to host Ayesha Naz.

He said Chaudhry Nisar wanted to tell Nawaz that he still has time to show flexibility in his behavior and reform himself. There are other people as well with the same opinion including Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, said Haroon.

Haroon-ur-Rasheed remarked that Chaudhry Nisar and Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan Shahid Khaqan Abbasi are well aware of the fact that there is no political future of Sharif family unless it adapts itself to the present situation.

Senior journalist Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami said Haroon-ur-Rasheed has supported his viewpoint that the problems Nawaz Sharif is facing at the moment is not because of the accusations that have been levelled against him, but due to his rigidness. This means if Nawaz shows flexibility then the matter will be resolved, he commented.

Shami affirmed that it is now quite clear that everything that is going on along with the litigation is just deception.

Chaudhry Nisar is a responsible political leader having strong relationship with PML-N, he continued, and his press conference disappointed many people as a lot of them were expecting him to speak against his party.

Acclaimed columnist Ayaz Amir said there should be a limit of drama, Chaudhry Nisar had created suspense from Washington to Tokyo by announcing to hold a presser after 24 days, but did not say anything significant in it.

He said every individual has his own problems. Nawaz Sharif’s problem is that he got disqualified but things are still working without him, Nisar’s problem is that Sharifs did not come up to his expectations by not persuading him, commented Ayaz.

Group executive editor for Roznama Dunya Salman Ghani said there is no objection regarding Chaudhry Nisar’s performance as interior minister that he mentioned, however, his complain that media did not talk about the issues that he raised in his party is wrong. This is our work and we do it properly, he said.

Salman Ghani added that the democracy in Pakistan would strengthen if Nisar raises this issue on his party platform.

Upon the question ‘Is PM Abbasi hiding facts?’ that was asked in the program, 76% people said is concealing them, and 24% said he is not.
