Al-Azizia case: Sharif family requests questionnaire from NAB
Counsel appeared before NAB on behalf of Sharif family today
LAHORE (Dunya News) – In the light of Al-Azizia Steel Company reference in National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the Sharif family’s counsel asked to provide questionnaire.
NAB officials are consulting on whether they should provide the questionnaire to Sharif family or summon the members again. Sources told that it is discretionary for the institution to decide the matter.
The investigative body had summoned Nawaz Sharif, Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz which they refused by sending their counsel instead. The legal aspect infers that NAB has powers in discretion whether or not to share their questionnaire with the accused.
NAB is yet to make the call after discussion with their legal team. The body is currently investigating Sharif family on the basis of references under the supervision of Supreme Court after its disqualification verdict for the former premier.
