COAS Gen Bajwa reaches Quetta to review security situation

QUETTA (Dunya News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has on Sunday reached Quetta after the city was targeted by the terrorists on Saturday (yesterday), and will review the security situation.

Army chief will be briefed on the incident as well as on the overall security condition of Balochistan. General Bajwa will also visit the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Quetta to inquire about the health of the injured.

Let it be known that the terror attack was held on a military vehicle near Pishin Stop in capital of southwestern province Balochistan that borders Afghanistan and Iran, and claimed lives of eight soldiers and seven civilians while left 30 injured.

Spokesperson for the provincial government Anwarul Haq Kakar confirmed the number of injured in an exclusive talk with Dunya News. Reportedly, vehicles in the immediate vicinity caught fire and over ten water tenders were on the site to control the situation.



COAS had also condemned the terrorist attack, and termed it an attempt to mar Independence Day festivity. Our resolve (to fight against terrorism) won’t succumb to any challenge, he added.
