Won't make decision on JIT report: Justice Ijazul Ahsan
Money trail of London flats is still a mystery, Justice Ijaz said.
ISLAMABAD (Duny News) – On the second consecutive day of Panama Leaks case hearing, Supreme Court (SC) judge Justice Ijazul Ahsan said that we will not make decision on the report submitted by Joint Investigation Team (JIT).
A three-member SC bench comprising Justice Ejaz Afzal, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Ijazul Ahsan resumed the hearing of Panamagate case during which SC judge said that JIT was tasked to inspect every available record.
Presenting his argument in the court, Khawaja Harris said that the court set a dimension of investigation for JIT by allowing it to find answers of only thirteen questions. JIT included two more questions by its own, he claimed.

He said that the team was to review Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) record to find its relevance with London flats, adding that high court dismissed FIA’s probe afterwards.
Money trail of London flats is still a mystery, Justice Ijaz said.
Justice Azmat said London flats were discussed in Panama Leaks. He also directed National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman to file reference on this case after proper investigation.
Khawaja Harris said the team is not authorize to give any kind of suggestions over which Justice Azmat said JIT members gave their recommendations whatever they felt right. However, decision to act on these recommendations is truly of SC, he added.

Justice Azmat said that we are not bound to follow JIT suggestions while Justice Ejaz Afzal said that the court can make decision on uncontroversial documents. He also said that they cannot comment on any part of the report.
The counsel said JIT inspected those cases which were already disposed of by the courts over which the bench asked do you mean that JIT cannot review the past cases.
The court remarked that Sharif family hasn’t denied any document in its plea on which Khawaja Harris said that JIT didn’t ask for explanation on any data.
Justice Azmat asked about the bank account of Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif in Saudi Arabia on which Khawaja Harris said that he has one and that the details of premier’s assets have already been submitted in the court.
He said volume 10 was not made public on which Justice Ijaz remarked that there is no evidence present in this volume but we can also open it if you insist.
The court has also assured that JIT is not investigating the case anymore.
