Army launches Operation Khyber IV
DG ISPR expressed his views in a press conference.
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor has on Sunday informed that Operation Khyber IV on a large scale has been launched by Pakistan Army in Rajgal and Shawal on Sunday (today).
DG ISPR expressed his views in a press conference and let it be known that Pakistan Air Force (PAF) will also help in the operation. The operation will be difficult due to the geographical location, he added.
Major General Asif Ghafoor added that 500 families are forced to live away from their homes. He affirmed that the hideouts of terrorists will be ousted.
He told that Operation Khyber IV is a part of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, and terrorist activities in Pakistan have been reduced significantly. 46 thousand operations at big scale were carried out under Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad across the country, he remarked.
Asif Ghafoor told that there is no organized infrastructure of Daish in Pakistan, and Pakistan Army will not allow to establish them either.
Major General Asif, however, admitted that the presence of Daish is increasing in the areas adjacent to Afghanistan, and did not negate the possibility of alliance of Daish with some components of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). He said that the arrested persons in Paranchinar incident are also related to Daish.
Talking about the condition of Karachi, DG ISPR told that it will get better in coming days, and informed that 15 terrorists are killed in an operation in Sindh.
On a question, Major General Asif Ghafoor also made it clear that Pakistan Army is not a part of any conspiracy against the government, and has no direct link with the Panama Joint Investigation Team (JIT).
Asif Ghafoor let it be known that the appeal of Kulbhushan Jadhav has been forwarded to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, and the decision will be taken according to the merit keeping the national interest in mind.
DG ISPR said Raymond Davis wrote his book as a contractor, and his remarks regarding his exit from Pakistan may have other purposes.
