Cross-border attack foiled, 2 alleged suicide bombers killed

Security forces repulsed attack on border post in Khyber Agency.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News / AP) - Two alleged suicide bombers attacked a military camp in northwest Pakistan, triggering a shootout in which the attackers were killed and two soldiers sustained injuries, the Inter Services Public Relations reported on Friday.

According to ISPR, terrorists including two sucide bombers from across the border attempted fire raid and target Misthara post, 2 km north west of Jarobi on Pak-Afg Border.

The officials said the one of the attackers detonated his suicide vest and the other militant was killed by snipers deployed at the camp.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to media on the record.

Asad Mansoor, a spokesman for the Jamaat-ul-Ahrar militant group, in a statement claimed responsibility but he gave no further details.

On the other hand, suspected terrorist facilitators including women operatives were arrested during a joint operation by Punjab Rangers, police and intelligence agencies in Dera Ghazi Khan.



Huge quantity of illegal automatic weapons, ammunition and LEAs uniforms were recovered from these gangs. The weapons were being transported for terrorist activities in major cities of Punjab & Sindh.
