Don't need reply from Imran, will announce decision now: CEC

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of Pakistan Sardar Muhammad Raza on Tuesday scolded counsel of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan upon failure to submit reply and said that final verdict would be announced on July 10 in contempt case.

A four-member bench of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) headed by CEC Sardar Muhammad Raza heard the case today (Tuesday).

According to details, Imran Khan failed in submitting fresh reply once again whereas his counsel sought more time from ECP for aforementioned purpose. He added that Khan had failed to appear before the ECP because he was in Chitral.

Khan’s counsel also informed the bench that new lawyer Babar Awan would submit fresh reply upon which CEC remarked that a reply was needed no more as ECP would announce verdict soon.

The hearing was adjourned till July-10.
