SECP Chairman appears before Panamagate JIT

Five SECP officials along with the chairman have appeared before the JIT.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan’s (SECP) Chairman Zafar Hijazi on Friday appeared before the Panamagate Joint Investigation Team (JIT) that was formed to probe much-hyped Panama Leaks case.

According to details, five SECP officials along with the chairman have appeared before the JIT while bringing with the record of Sharif family’s companies including Chaudhry sugar mills with him. JIT will review the Sharif’s business record and tax returns today.

The meeting headed by Federal Investigation Agency’s Additional Director General (immigration) Wajid Zia is underway in Judicial Academy. Strict security arrangements have been made outside the building.

Summons have also been issued earlier to the three children of Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif  for the first week of July.

Hassan Nawaz has been called on July 3, Hussain Nawaz will appear on July 4 while Maryam Nawaz will attend hearing on July 5 at 11am.

Moreover; Nawaz Sharif’s cousin Tariq Shafi will also reappear before the JIT on July 2.
The Supreme Court (SC) had directed JIT to submit the final report on July 10
