Death toll in Parachinar twin blasts rises to 45

PARACHINAR (Dunya News) - The death from twin blasts in Parachinar on Friday has climbed to 45 after 10 victims injured in the explosions succumbed to their wounds, Dunya News reported.

The political administration in Parachinar has confirmed the death of 45 people and added that at least 306 were wounded in the twin suicide blasts.

According to political administration, the first blast occurred when people were busy Eid shopping in a crowded market in Parachinar, capital of Kurram district in the tribal belt. When people rushed to the site of the blast to rescue the wounded, a second blast took place.

Pakistan Army contingents and FC personnel also reached the site of the attack to aid in the rescue efforts. Officials said emergency had been imposed in all hospitals across Parachinar.

National Assembly lawmaker, Sajid Hussain Turi who belongs from the same area had an exclusive talk with Dunya News in which he condemned the incident. He informed that army officials were quick to respond to the situation and have started the rescue operations. Turi said ambulances, firefighter vehicles and aerial help were being provided in the affected area.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called for security to be beefed up across the country as he condemned the attack, saying that no Muslim could ever imagine committing such a "horrific" act.
