JIT will present its report in the Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Joint Investigation Team (JIT), constituted to hear the much-hyped Panama case, on Monday has met to review the record submitted by Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s sons Hassan and Hussain.

The inquiry committee headed by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Additional Director General Wajid Zia will present its report in the Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday.

It is to be mentioned here that Hussain Nawaz made four appearances before Panamagate JIT while Hassan Nawaz appeared for once.

“I had spent 14 months in jail during Musharraf’s era but no wrongdoing was proved due to lack of evidence,” Hussain apprised media at judicial academy.

On the other hand, State Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb expressed concerns over Hussain Nawaz’s Joint Investigation Team (JIT) picture leaked on social media. She further declared the leak an extraordinary activity.

The latest development came after Nehal Hashmi, a senator from the ruling party, apparently threatened judges for seeking details of bank accounts from Sharif s family. PM sacked Hashmi, but tension between his government and judiciary persist.

Nawaz Sharif has been under pressure to resign since reports based on documents leaked from a Panama-based law firm indicated his sons owned offshore companies.
