ISLAMABAD (Dunya News)- Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) has directed to form six-member joint investigation team (JIT) to probe Sharif family in country’s most anticipated Panama Leaks Case.

The head of departments will appoint members of JIT which will includes officials from Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Military Intelligence (MI), State Bank (SB), Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) while director-general level FIA officer will head the team. JIT will have jurisdiction to travel abroad for investigation.

The JIT would be constituted within seven days and will submit a progress report after every two weeks in apex court. The JIT is supposed to complete probe in span of 60 days.

It is pertinent here to mention that the final verdict is split 3-2 among the bench with two dissenting notes in the judgement by Justice Khosa and Justice Gulzar. The two judges ruled against PM Nawaz Sharif, whereas the other three were in favour of forming a JIT.
