TS Elliott had once said that April is the cruelest month of the year, but its true for many here

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – TS Elliott had once called April as the cruelest month of the year but it has certainly been a cruel month for various Pakistani prime ministers in the past as well.

It was in 1979, when Pakistan’s first democratically elected Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was hanged on April 4 at Adiyala Jail in Rawalpindi.

The current prime minister was next to suffer a terrible blow in this month when his first term in office came to an abrupt end as President Ghulam Ishaq Khan dislodged his government on April 18, 2993.

The third time was also Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif when on April 6, 2000 he was handed a life sentence in plane hijacking case by a special court.

Yousuf Raza Gillani was also shown his way home in the month of April. He was disqualified by Supreme Court in a contempt of court case on April 26, 2012.

It is strange that Panama Papers were also published last year on April 4 and now the decision of the case against Prime Minister in view of Panama Leaks is also going to be announced tomorrow, April 20.

Will this April prove different or the history will repeat itself once again? The decision is just hours ahead now.
