PTI leader says Raheel Sharif national hero, PPP's Saeed Ghani says Governor's statement incorrect

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Sindh Governor Zubair Umer’s statement has remained under scrutiny throughout the day. His own brother, Asad Umer, has now said disagreed with Zubair’s statement regarding former army chief General (r) Raheel Sharif. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader said that the statement was unworthy of the governor, reported Dunya News.

Talking on Dunya News program ‘On the Front’, Asad Umer said that Raheel Sharif was a national hero and no matter what the governor would like to state, the real credit of the operation in Karachi goes to Raheel Sharif.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Saeed Ghani said that Zubair Umer’s statement was factually incorrect. He said that PPP was the first to start operation in Lyari and all the political parties had taken the ownership of Karachi operation.

The PPP leader said that the ruling Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) would have never survived the challenges his own party had.
