Clash erupts during Pakhtoon Cultural Day event at Punjab University

The scuffle erupted when some students disrupted Pushtun Cultural Day ceremony.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – More than ten students sustained severe wounds as clash broke out between two student groups at University of Punjab in Lahore today (Tuesday).




According to details, a Pushtun Cultural Day ceremony was held at new campus during which the participants were dancing on their traditional tunes.

Reportedly, one group of the students disrupted the event and set the stalls on fire that led to the massive brawl.



Getting information about the incident, heavy contingent of police arrived at the scene and used tear gas to disperse the students. 



Exclusively talking to Dunya News, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said that the event was organized after formal permission from the university whereas the attack was carried out by old students of Islami Jamiat.

He further assured to take strict action against the culprits.

Moreover, police have managed to control the situation while the students have started celebrations again.
