We have a right to the waters of three rivers, govt must end talks, says the conference declaration

LAHORE: (Daily Dunya) – Leaders of eighteen farmer associations from across the country on Sunday said that Indus Water Treaty must be protected as Pakistan has a right on the waters of three rivers, reported Daily Dunya.

The speakers at National Farmers Conference, attended by 18 farmer associations including Pakistan Water Movement and United Farmers Front, said that they wouldn’t let Pakistan become a desert in result of India’s water terrorism. They said that the government of Pakistan must immediately give up on talks with India on this subject.

The conference was addressed by senior farmer leaders including Muhammad Ayyub Khan Mayo, Khalid Mehmood Khokhar, Tariq Bugti and others.

At the end of the conference, the head of United Farmers Front Ayyub Khan Mayo read out the declaration, which said that friendship and trade with India was wrong since the neighbouring country was involved in genocide of the farmers on this side of the border.
