Army launches Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad across country
Counter-terrorism operation in Punjab is a part of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Army has launched Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad’ across the country on Wednesday to consolidate the gains of multiple counter-terror operations and further eliminate residue of the extremism.
According to a statement issued by media cell of the military, operation aims at indiscriminately eliminating residual/ latest threat of terrorism, consolidating gains of operations made thus far and further ensuring security of the borders.

Radd-ul-Fasaad involves conduct of broad spectrum security/ counter terrorism operations by Rangers in Punjab, the statement added.
“Country-wide de-weaponization and explosive control are additional cardinals of the effort,” ISPR stated.
The decision followed a meeting chaired by Chief of the Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa which was attended by heads of intelligence departments, Punjab Director General of Pakistan Rangers among others.

Media cell of the army reported after the meeting that important decisions were taken and would be shared shortly.
Earlier, a large-scale operation called Zarb-e-Azb was launched in June 2014 in tribal areas of the country that have seen over 3,500 killed while hundreds of terror hideouts eliminated.
Independently Displaced Persons were allowed in the recent past to move back to their native towns after a large part of Waziristan was cleared of extremist outfits.
