One dead, four judicial officers injured in Peshawar bomb blast
Reportedly, three woman judicial officers are among the wounded
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Four judicial officers among 15 persons sustained injuries while driver of a judicial staff s vehicle was killed as a bomb exploded near the vehicle in Hayatabad’s Phase-V on Wednesday.
Law enforcers reached the attack site and cordoned off area after shifting the injured and the bodies to nearby hospitals. State of emergency has been imposed in all hospitals of the city.
Judicial officer Asif Jadoon and three women judicial officers Rabia Abbas, Tehreema and Amna are among the injured. According to the Senior Superintendent of Police, a motorcyclist, wearing suicide vest, rammed into the judge’s vehicle.
Reportedly, the civil judge has sustained wounds. Medics have reported that a body and five wounded have been brought to Hayatabad Medical Complex.
Capital City Police Officer of Peshawar has said that a probe has been launched and approximately 15 kilogram of explosives were used for the blast. All the wounded are safe and none of them is critical, he reported.
The CCPO further said that no police van was escorting the judicial staff in Hayatabad area.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Minister for Interior has condemned the attack and summoned a report from provincial authorities.
Provincial minister Shaukat Yousafzai has said that terrorists want to create an environment of panic and chaos to plunge the country into darkness. However, he said that terror attacks have lessened in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa especially in Peshawar owing to Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
It should be noted here that Hayatabad is among the areas of the city that were designated sensitive over possible terror attacks.
Earlier today, a suicide attack claimed five lives including three levies men in Ghalanai Tehsil of Mohmand Agency.
It should be mentioned here that Imran Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf did not cancel his plan to visit the area and arrived within an hour of the attack.
On Monday, a suicide attack on Lahore’s Mall Road, outside Punjab Assembly claimed lives of 13 persons including revered Chief Traffic Officer, Ahmed Mobin. Splinter group of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, Jamaatul Ahrar claimed the responsibility of the attack.
