RAW agents conspiring against CPEC arrested in GB
Pakistan is desirous of better ties with the US in the coming years: FO
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Foreign Office (FO) has stated on Thursday that at least six covert operatives of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) of India have been nabbed in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) who were tasked to conspire against China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Spokesperson for the office, Nafees Zakaria reported that India has been attempting to sabotage CPEC ever since the massive foreign investment was announced. At least six agents of RAW were nabbed in GB area, he added.
While talking about the fresh President of the United States (US), Zakaria reiterated that Pakistan is ready to cooperate with the White House and forge strengthened ties. He recalled that Donald J. Trump and Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif conversed on a telephone call before he was sworn in.
Pakistan is desirous of better ties with the US in the coming years, he said.
The spokesperson further informed that a clarification over controversy regarding PM’s address in Davos has been released while a letter of the World Economic Forum is there on website of the Foreign Office.
CPEC is a historic $46 billion investment by China and construction of several projects under it is underway.
An in-service officer of Indian navy named Kulbhushan Jadhav was arrested earlier in Balochistan who was working for RAW to conspire against the economic corridor.
Narendra Modi, Indian Prime Minister had urged Chinese Xi Jinping to reconsider the investment in Pakistan however, the request the not entertained.
