Baldia factory fire: FIA brings back Rehman Bhola

He claimed that members of MQM besides Hammad Siddique were involved in the crime

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Team of Federal Investigation Team (FIA) has brought prime suspect in Baldia factory fire incident, Rehman Bhola back to Pakistan after he was caught in Thailand.

The suspect was brought back to the country using emergency passport. Earlier, Bhola was arrested in Thailand by Interpol. During interrogation by Interpol, Bhola alleged that Hammad Siddique of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) ordered setting fire to the factory.

He also claimed that other members of MQM were involved in the crime.

Owners of the factory were asked to comply to demands of extortion money and upon their refusal, the factory was set on fire, Bhola has revealed.

Sources privy to FIA stated that a court will be approached on Wednesday to acquire remand of the prime suspect.

A factory in Karachi’s Baldia Town was set on fire in 2012 and a report of Pakistan Rangers revealed later on that a political party was involved in the incident.

Founder of the political party was detached with by leadership of Pakistan chapter in August over anti-state speech.
