Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi elected as Pakistan Ulema Council's central chairman

The results were announced by central organizer elections Maulana Muhammed Ayub Safdar.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Ulema Council’s (PUC) central Majlis-e-Shura, executive committee, four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan amd Azad Kashmir members have mutually elected Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi as central chairman and Shaibzada Zahid Mehmood Qasmi as central secretary general.

While announcing results during a press conference, central organizer elections Maulana Muhammed Ayub Safdar said that PUC has selected the central chairman and secretary general after using their vote right.

He said that the council has elected Maulana Abdul Kareem Nadeem as vice-chairman, General Maulana Abdul Hameed Watoo as deputy secretary, Muhammad Talha Kashmiri as secretary foreign affairs and Maulana Asad Farooq as finance secretary.

Maulana Muhammed Ayub Safdar pronounced that the names of secretary information and commanders will be announced afterwards.

Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, Sahibzada Zahid Mehmood Qasmi and other newly appointed members said that PUC is a religious and welfare party.

They declared that the council will participate in the next elections.

PUC proclaimed that Seerat Khatim-ul-Anbia conference will be held on December 17 whereas Language promotion day will be observed on December 18.
