Pakistan pursuing policy of preferential trade over financial aid: Sartaj Aziz

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said on Tuesday that mutual cooperation at provincial and national level is underway to achieve the goals of sustainable development.
Addressing a seminar in Islamabad, he said with commitment and maturity, economic progress is being assured.
He said Pakistan is pursuing a policy of preferential trade over financial aid.
Sartaj Aziz said by investing in common man, many issues within a state can be averted before they arise or get worse.
He asserted that non discriminatory approach and optimum utilization of resources is imperative for ending poverty.
He reiterated that the delay of SAARC conference halted the progress in economic and social sectors.
Sartaj Aziz said CPEC vivifies the deeply rooted and exemplary relations between China and Pakistan.
He said progress and stability in the region is possible through regional connectivity and mutual sharing of experiences in different fields.
Federal minister Zahid Hamid said that joint and systematic efforts are needed to achieve sustainable development goals.
Food, education, health and economic stability are the fundamental rights of people, he added.
Zahid Hamid explained that SDG agenda is the main focus in the economic agenda.
“Pakistan is also taking steps regarding climate change. Alongwith Vision 2025, national policy regarding climatic and environmental changes is also quite clear,” he said.
