Police, health department raided the factory, seized fake medicines worth millions, sealed factory

MULTAN: (Dunya News) – Police and health department on Saturday raided a factory making fake medicines and arrested its owners. They seized the fake medicines worth millions of rupees and sealed the factory, reported Dunya News.

As Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif ordered strong action against the factories making fake medicines, the health department officials also came to life and sealed a factory in Multan’s Kotwali Police Station premises in a raid, seizing medicines and machines worth millions of rupees.

The fake medicines were not only being supplied in Multan but also in other areas of South Punjab. However, police arrested factory owner Iftikhar Rafique and started investigation.



The medicines taken into custody by the health department will be sent to drug test laboratory and further action will be taken after the report. Moreover, Punjab CM has announced Rs 1 million reward for anyone informing on factories making fake medicine, terming them slaughter houses.
