Pakistan, Saudi Arabia likely to observe Eid-ul-Fitr on same day
Eid-ul-Fitr will likely be on Wednesday, July 6, says astronomers.
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee under Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman’s supervision on Tuesday will hold a meeting in Lahore to sight Shawwal moon, reported on Monday.
Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committee would also meet in Islamabad for the same purpose.
Sources told that the Middle East states including Saudi Arabia will conduct a session to sight the moon today whereas the experts said that possibilities of moon sighting in Pakistan is less today but high on Tuesday.
Weather specialists said that the moon would also likely to be witnessed in Punjab areas including Lahore which is an indication that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan would celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on the same day.
Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, will likely be on Wednesday, July 6, according to astronomers.
