Democracy shall be strengthened by fighting against anti-democratic, says former president
LAHORE (Web Desk, Dunya News) – In a statement issued by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Monday on the occasion of his late wife Benazir Bhutto’s 63rd birthday, the former president stated that women in the country were being suppressed under the name of religion, further adding that the people are ready to battle against such mentality, reported Dunya News.
Zardari said that women’s rights were being curbed in the country, adding that such mentality would be fought till its very end.
He stated that the people should rise against extremists and militants in the country while walking in the footsteps of Benazir Bhutto, further adding that the democratic institutions and the constitution of the country shall be safeguarded at all costs.
He further added that PPP shall continue its battle against militants. Former president said that democracy in the country shall be strengthened by fighting against anti-democratic and status quo forces.
