Dr Asim made several shocking revelations regarding Asif Ali Zardari in the video released today

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – In another video leaked today, senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader, and federal minister, Dr Asim made shocking revelations about former President Asif Ali Zardari. After revealing the details about Awais Muzaffar in the first video, Dr Asim revealed more information about Asif Zardari, reported Dunya News.

In the video, Dr Asim stated that Asif Zardari’s Dubai business was taken care of by Dr Ghani Ansari and a banker named Ghaffoor. He added that London matters of Asif Zardari were looked after by Ali and Switzerland’s matters were Senator Farooq H Naik’s responsibility. However, Dr Asim couldn’t recall the name of the lady secretary who looked after Asif Zardari’s US business.

Dr Asim further said in the video that Shahnawaz Junejo was Asif Zardari’s special man. He revealed that Hassan Ali looked after Zardari’s matters related to his lands in Sindh and a close friend of his named Masood or Maqsood was responsible for his matters related to police.

On the other hand, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) strongly denounced the confessional video.

“This is a monstrous notoriety and monumental arrogance of the law enforcing agency which held Dr Asim Hussain in custody and is condemned in the strongest terms”, a PPP spokesperson said in a statement.

He said that the video confirmed the apprehensions that "Dr Asim will be brutally tortured to extract from him so called confessional statements."

The spokesperson said that Dr Asim was first held in custody of the law enforcing agency accusing him of terrorism under anti terror laws. But when the agency realized that it had no case to prove in a court of law it changed the track and brought corruption charges against him even though there exists separate legal mechanisms for addressing corruption charges.

The Party also called for early adoption of Anti Torture legislation passed unanimously by the Senate in March last year. This legislation is necessary to put to an end torture in custody and to ensure that such crimes are not committed with impunity in future, he said.
