By the next week, Pakistan will become a regular member of SCO: FO

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan has on Thurday announced to construct more gates at Pak-Afghan border for surveillance and mobilisation of people crossing the border according to Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson. The spokesperson also told that small incidents often occurred at the border which should not be named as war, nor ceasefire was an appropriate term to be used for Pak-Afghan border tension, reported Dunya News.

In a weekly press briefing by FO spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said that border management was a part of a strategy to counter terrorism. Other than Torkham, gates will also be installed on other border crossings, Zakaria said.

The main motive of Afghan ambassador’s meeting at FO and General Headquarters (GHQ) was to water down tensions and resolve the issue through dialogue, Zakaria added. He also said that war against terror would be brought to its logical end.

Briefing the media, he also stated that issues regarding Kulbhushan Yadav were a part of Pak-Iran bilateral cooperation. By the next week, Pakistan would become a regular member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), FO spokesperson said.
