Sirmed accused Hamdullah of using vulgar language against her and assaulting her as well

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Women rights activist and journalist Marvi Sirmed has filed an application in Kohsar police station, Islamabad, for the registration of a case against Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Senator Hafiz Hamdullah. Sirmed has accused Hamdullah of threatening her with severe consequences during a programme on a private television channel, reported Dunya News on Saturday.

Marvi Sirmed and Hafiz Hamdullah were involved in a fiery exchange of arguments during the recording of a programme that was to be aired on a private news channel.

Sirmed has accused Hamdullah of maligning her character along with assaulting her as well in the application she filed in the police station. She stated that the JUI-F senator used vulgar language against her and threatened her of severe consequences. She requested the police officials to register a case against Hamdullah in accordance with the law.

Although the report was registered, police officials state that case against Hamdullah shall be registered after vieweing the recording of the programme.
