Funeral of slain MQM worker, sympathiser offered in Karachi

Attempts being made to sabotage efforts to bring peace in Karachi, says Farooq Sattar

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The funeral prayer of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) worker Asim and party sympathiser Haider, who were gunned down last night by unidentified assailants at Jaffar Tayyar society in Malir, was offered on Friday at the Imam Bargah in Malir kala board, reported Dunya News.

A large number of the local residents along with the family members of both the murdered individuals attended the funeral. Asim and Haider were killed by the firing of unidentified assailants whereas another person named Hassan also got injured during the incident.

Rangers and police reached the crime scene soon after the incident. 6 shells were recovered from the area which were sent to a forensic laboratory for testing.

While addressing a press conference at the end of the funeral prayer, MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar said that the party s workers are being targeted by murderers, adding that attempts are being made to sabotage the efforts to bring peace in Karachi.
