Locals vulnerable to heat stroke as administration cuts down trees in Karachi
These trees provided much needed, cool shade to the citizens thus preventing the heat stroke.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – District administration has cut down trees of Shahrah-e-Faisal’s central greenbelt amidst a season during which heat stroke incidents are still frequent, Dunya News reported Thursday.
The incomprehensible drive is continuing in other areas also. Locals have said that trees provide much needed, cool shades thus preventing life threatening heat stroke.

Administration has stated that some of the trees were cut down as they were affecting the flow of traffic.
Thousands of citizens were affected with thousands losing their lives last year due to the heat stroke and dehydration as temperatures soared. The deadly condition has affected several this year as well.

Heatstroke treatment centers were set up around the city while citizens were educated as well about its treatment and prevention.
