Shah said that it was government’s responsibility to write to the Supreme Court for probe into Panama leaks. Opposition would not write a letter to the Supreme Court, he cleared.

Separately, Opposition Leader in the Senate Aitzaz Ahsan has demanded the Prime Minister to present himself for accountability in accordance with the joint TORs. He said that opposition parties have rejected government’s TORs. He further demanded the Prime Minister to disclose details of his tax returns and income since the time he was Punjab’s Chief Minister (CM).

Senior members of opposition parties had met on Tuesday at Aitzaz Ahsan’s residence to prepare TORs in Panama leaks issue.

The opposition parties could not reach consensus over Prime Minister’s resignation demand. Aitzaz Ahsan confessed to not being able to convince two political parties for demanding PM’s resignation over alleged corruption. Ex-federal minister Qamar Zaman Kaira cleared that two political parties were of the opinion that it was not the right time to demand off the PM to resign.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), PTI, PPP, AML and others have demanded the Prime Minister to resign as according to the parties he has lost moral grounds to rule the country after his family was alleged of corruption and stashing wealth abroad in Panama Papers.

It should be mentioned here that Icelandic Prime Minister had stepped down after protests against him. He was among 140 world leaders named in Panama leaks.
