Raza Haroon, Ghauri deny Khalid Shamim's allegation
Rs. 220 million were sent through Raza Haroon, Babar Ghauri for Altaf's divorce settlement: Shamim
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Primary suspect involved in Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader (MQM) Dr. Imran Farooq’s murder case, Khalid Shamim, on Thursday made shocking accusations in a video statement involving MQM’s former and current leaders along with its chief, Altaf Hussain. Shamim has stated that Rs. 220 million were sent through Raza Haroon, now member of Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP), and MQM leader Babar Ghauri, for Altaf Hussain’s divorce settlement matter. Meanwhile both Haroon and Ghauri have strongly denied the allegations.
According to the details, Shamim stated that both Haroon and Ghauri had used money earned through China cutting for the party chief’s divorce settlement. He added that the finances were transferred to Dubai through both leaders.
Shamim stated that now citizens of Karachi should judge whether he was a fool or intelligent. He stated that it was as if fulfilling the divorce settlement was the responsibility of the citizens of Karachi.
PSP leader Haroon has strongly denied Shamim’s allegations. Talking to Dunya News during the program “Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Sath”, Haroon stated that he does not know neither has met Shamim. He added that Shamim’s allegations had no links with the truth. He further stated that Hussain’s divorce settlement occurred in London and was set at 22 million GBP and the matter was dealt by a court in London. He added that this was a court case and it should be answered by MQM chief or his lawyers. He further added that he had no links with the arrangement of money as well. He stated that he has no idea why Shamim had stated his name in the matter.
On the other hand, talking to Dunya News during the program ‘On the Front’, Ghauri has also strongly denied the allegations. He stated that Shamim’s video statement was completely baseless. He inquired that Shamim was in jail then why was his video leaked.
